Title: Version 7.0: what’s changed, and where online payments went
Event Registration 7.0 is now available. It’s a complete rewrite: the 6.x code had security problems and doesn’t run on current versions of PHP, so rather than patch it, I rebuilt the plugin from the ground up to be secure and ready for the years ahead.
Online payments (PayPal, Authorize.net, and others) are not in 7.0. The old payment integrations were part of the code that had to be retired. Version 7.0 includes offline payments (check, cash, or pay at the door) with payment instructions, receipts, and balances, and online payments are planned as an add-on. If you rely on online payments, you may want to wait to update until that’s available. Your 6.x data stays safe either way.
Upgrading from 6.x? Back up your site first, then follow the step-by-step guide: https://wpeventregister.com/upgrading-from-6-x/
- Your 6.x events, registrations, and payments are imported with a built-in importer, and your old data is never changed or deleted unless you choose to remove it.
- Pages that use
{EVRREGIS},[EVR_SINGLE],[EVR_CALENDAR], and the other 6.x codes keep working after you import. - The old Location and Coordinator modules aren’t compatible with 7.0. You’ll see a notice with a button to deactivate them, and their features will return as new add-ons.

If something doesn’t work as expected, please start a new topic with your WordPress and PHP versions and what you were doing. I read every post.
Thank you for sticking with Event Registration all these years.
